Mardan Fabrication provides two main types of entry doors for our security booths, also known as guard booths or guard houses: a Swing Entry Door and a Top Suspended Horizontal Sliding Door. Each door has benefits over the other depending on the use and location of the security booth or guard booth. Either or both types of doors can be incorporated into a Mardan prefabricated security booth, also known as prefab security booth.
A Swing Door for commercial use typically swings open outward to the exterior of the prefab security booth due to life safety concerns. This is conducted by allowing the occupants to egress the prefab guard booth without having to pull the Door open towards them before exiting. Mardan Swing Doors are provided with a Lever Handle, Cylindrical type Lock Set, a Full-length Aluminum Geared Hinge and a Hydraulic Closer. Approach and egress clearances should be considered with the use of a Swing Door when accommodating ADA entry requirements. Additionally, if the door will open into oncoming traffic lane a Sliding Door may be a better consideration.
A Top Suspended Sliding Door is found on the interior of the security booth, guard booth or any odern guard house. It allows for smaller clearance requirement for ADA approach requirements. Our sliding doors incorporate a pair of Ball Bearing Carriers that roll along an overhead I-beam aluminum track. Due to the low weight of the door, it glides to the open or closed position with extraordinarily little effort. This help prevent personnel fatigue. The door has a Laminated Hook Bolt lock that latches into the door jamb column for maximum security.
Both styles of door have keyed entry with the ability to lock from the interior side for security purposes in security booth design, guard booth design or any modern guard houses design.
